Need a break from the heat? Altitude Austin is Austin’s newest (and best) indoor trampoline park. It features all the standard attractions plus several unique additions including a foam pit rock wall, a trapeze, and diving platforms. It’s not cheap, but it is tons of fun in air conditioning.

You can now play Footgolf in Austin. It’s like regular golf, except with Footgolf, you play with soccer balls and kick them into 21″ holes. You get the beauty of the golf course, the exercise of walking that course, with the ease of kicking a soccer ball. If you can kick a soccer ball, you can play Footgolf.

Reimers Ranch is right next door to it’s well-known neighbor – Hamilton Pool. It is a different type of experience, but super cool and is so much less crowded. It’s known for world-class rock climbing and awesome mountain biking trails, but with 3 miles of Pedernales River waterfront, there are lots of great swimming spots.

It’s great to be outside over the summer, but in sometimes it’s nice to get a break from the heat. Bowling is one of the most requested options in my household, but it’s fairly expensive. Luckily, several Austin bowling alleys offer free bowling over the summer.

Garrison Park (and Pool) is another South Austin gem – and the pool even has a diving board! Summer day camps are run in the park, so it can get crowded over the summer months, but the opportunity to do a cannonball is worth it. Plus, the park has plenty of other activities to enjoy.

Dick Nichols Park (and pool) is a great family fun destination with something for everybody. Since it is one of the few free pools in town, it can attract crowds, but the water is clean and cool and there are plenty of things to do beforehand.
