Need a break from the heat? Altitude Austin is Austin’s newest (and best) indoor trampoline park. It features all the standard attractions plus several unique additions including a foam pit rock wall, a trapeze, and diving platforms. It’s not cheap, but it is tons of fun in air conditioning.
Interested in trying virtual reality in Austin? Game Republik now rents the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift so you can try VR! It’s a bit of a dive, but totally worth it if you or your kids like video gaming at all.
The one water toy that we now use the most often is the Waboba Ball. It’s a racquetball-sized squishy ball that skips across the water like a skipping stone. Wherever we go, we get a crowd of kids wanting to try it. I think I like it most because we can use it anywhere with water – pools, rivers, etc.
You can now play Footgolf in Austin. It’s like regular golf, except with Footgolf, you play with soccer balls and kick them into 21″ holes. You get the beauty of the golf course, the exercise of walking that course, with the ease of kicking a soccer ball. If you can kick a soccer ball, you can play Footgolf.
